[SOLVED] Issue with Zip Compression and Extraction

hello,

I am having weird issue in my server regarding zip compression and extraction . It takes forever ( 5 mins+) to extract 6 mb+ the files so do to compress the file (Creating Backups), If the file is 10mb+ It just never completes (extraction goes on forever).

Due to I cant even create Daily Server site backups with use of Backup plugins (Wordpress). I can provide backup logs generated by plugin if needed.

This issue was present since my hosting account was created. This issue might be due to I/O Usage limit.

Please take a look into this issue. and Please can you provide details about my servers Physical Memory Usage (RAM) and I/O Usage Limits limits.

Hi,

I can see that you have extracted the package. If this happend again, please try with FileZilla or any other FTP program. We will investagate why this is happend.

No, the extraction actually never shown completed so I just closed the tab after 5 mins. (It really creates double doubt in mind if files were perfectly extracted or not)

Here I created video from my other hosting server about how the extraction should have been done in matter of seconds.

I have found several more issues with server

1. SSH doesnt work, I tried to use ssh for purpose of extracting using command line. But server doesn't accept connection even after creating keys. (tried login with username - pass, and also with creating keys)

2. Home dictionary restore doesn't work form Backup panel, Surely related with Zip issue cause Restoration bar freezes after successful upload.

I never encountered such issue before, not a major priority issues but still I decided to let you know.

Hey,

Unfortunately I got same result on New server. I ran test several times.

Zip extraction is kinda buggy sometimes it shows result after 6-7 mins as completed, sometimes it goes on forever.

Tar Compression works fine, Extraction is buggy same as ZIP.


Restore (site Migration) should give same non responsive error as it directly related with zip extraction. (not tested on new server)

SSH : Server accepts the connection but refuses to accept the Private KEY, I other case when trying to login with Server Username and Password It shows this error:

"Shell access not enables in your account.
If you need shell access contact support."

I tried a 3rd Party Zip and Rar extraction script on server: https://github.com/ndeet/unzipper/blob/m...zipper.php

and guess what It actually worked! files more than 70 mb extraction gives server error after excluding MAXIMUM EXICUTION TIME as determined in php (3rd party script need time to extract larger files)

Looks like there is a problem with Zip module shell from server side.

Can you provide my ssh assess for my hosting server so I can test If compression and extraction from command line works or not.

It is strange, I have did self with a test account and it was working fine. With 2 seconds it was extracted fine.

Please can you give me temporary access to your test account? So i can check myself.

and can you test the extraction on my hosting account (the new one created today) the test zip file is under /public_html/test folder and please tell me the results.

What you can do in the meantime while extracting files in server burly is using a FTP client such as FileZilla, that program can you connect to the filemanager and then you can use that for extracting and edit files. Then we will in the meantime fix this issue for you. I can't tell you unfortunately not when and how long it will be taken, but if it's fixed then I will do let you know.
